Dr Devaney Thornton: How To Start A Weight Loss Program By Taking His Approach

Dr. Devaney Thornton of Crown Point, Tennessee has a very interesting career as a world class expert in holistic health and wellness. He is a certified yoga master and a master in Ayurveda (the study of life). He teaches in various schools, as well as to thousands of other people worldwide.

He is the author of hundreds of articles and publications, including "The Super Food Diet and Miracle Foods," which are published by Aquagen and he is one of the featured speakers at the American Institute of Nutrition (AIN) and Ashtanga Yoga Center of America (AYCA). His own website has an extensive list of his published works. There are a lot of books by him out on the market today, which I have personally reviewed. They are all excellent for learning about the methods and science behind these weight loss programs.

One of his many public appearances was at the 2020 Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics convention in Atlanta. There he presented a talk titled "Concise Functional Medicine: Lessons From the Oceans". That talk covers the difference between general holistic medicine and the more specialized and specific forms that are used in alternative and complementary medicine.

The talk was very enjoyable and informative and there was an audience participation question and answer session with Dr. Devaney following it. During that Q&A, the questioner mentioned that she was interested in starting a nutrition program similar to Dr. Devaney's.

I called Dr. Devaney up, and he agreed to get together and discuss his approach to holistic health and wellness with me. During our phone conversation, we discussed his long history of experience in the practice of Ayurveda (the study of life), in addition to his own ongoing education in holistic health and wellness.
